Thursday, 7 April 2016

Thurs., Apr. 7th

You did it!!!  We have officially developed the language to discuss some of the human systems ... that was the whole point of section 1.  So now onto the digestive system where we revisit organic molecules (including polymers & monomers), membrane transport as well as enzymes ... lots of enzymes!
Emma embarrassed of this lab :)
Mary had saved her saliva all class until this point!!

Today:
- Lab: Enzyme Spit Lab - What is the function of saliva in digestion?  Slightly gross but it's biology... and I love it!
- Read through digestive system notes (handed out in class)
- Label Digestive system diagram in notes
- WSQ for tomorrow: Digestive System: Structures & function (see below) ... no e-assignment

Wednesday, 6 April 2016

When finished, start watching the first digestive system vodcast (see below).

Tuesday, 5 April 2016

Tues., Apr 5th

Unit 3 test corrections today and then review.  For a list of things you could use to review, see post and links from last Thursday (Mar 31st).

Section #1 Exam tomorrow!  You may want to arrive 15 minutes early to give yourself lots of time.

Monday, 4 April 2016

Mon., Apr. 4th

In general, this is how I feel about Monday's....
Unit 3 tests are marked and posted on the back wall (and can usually be found on this blog under marks I am having a system malfunction right now).  I am not going to email marks home until after the section exam as marks will then have been adjusted to show your increased learning (especially on unit 3 ... Yuck!).

Today students worked on doing corrections for unit 1 & unit 2 tests and then studied!  Reminder, your Section #1 Exam is on Wednesday (includes units 1, 2 and 3) and is worth at least 9% of your overall mark.  It may be valued at more if you beat your percentage on each of the unit tests thus far.

Fri., Apr 1st

Unit 3 Test today!

When finished, corrections for Unit 1 test.
